A Message from Edward Dalcour, President

Dear Fellow Defender and Co-laborer in Jesus Christ, God the Son. 

            Scripture commands for all Christians to always be ready to give a defense and a reason for the faith (cf. 1 Pet. 3:15). We must defend the gospel and provide a reason for our defense. Unfortunately, that mandate is far too frequently abdicated. The membership of the Mormon Church rises daily as does the Jehovah’s Witnesses. The membership increase of non-Christian cults is in proportion to the failing of the Christian church to effectively communicate essential doctrine. 

            Many people that I speak with sincerely want to reach-out to those involved in the cults and those who attack and deny the reliability of Scripture as the infallible Word of God. However, they lack the understanding and tools needed to effectively deal with them. Hence, many Christians do not feel confident enough to dialog with the skeptic, or even the Mormon or Jehovah’s Witness that continuously comes to the doorstep. 

Because of our passionate stance on effectively communicating essential biblical doctrine, we at DCD are excited to offer our Certificate of Theological Apologetics (CTA). This program is designed to equip and educate Christians to know what and especially why they believe with a concentration on cult evangelism. It will provide a basic understanding of the doctrines that are so profusely attacked by liberal scholarship and non-Christian cults, such as the doctrine of the Trinity, the deity of Christ, justification, and reliability of Scripture, etc. Further, this program will prepare the serious Christian to rightly interpret Scripture, utilizing basic rules of accepted hermeneutics (i.e., critical and accurate interpretation).

After all, Christians should be able to confidently and effectively dialogue with skeptics and refute the arguments postulated by those who are in non-Christian cults (esp. Jehovah’s Witnesses, Mormons, and Oneness believers). I am confident that this program will provide the tools necessary to do so. To further ones logical and biblical knowledge on substantive doctrines builds confidence and personal faith. What a joy it is to know how to accurately communicate and proclaim who God is. Now you will have an opportunity to be biblically equipped and obtain an earned Certificate of Theological Apologetics from Department of Christian Defense.
